Trust & Estate Paralegal with Mid-Senior level experience
Vitale Law, PLLC is seeking a full-time Trust & Estate Paralegal with Mid-Senior level experience.
Vitale Law, PLLC, a boutique law firm with offices located in Scottsdale and Carefree, is looking to add a highly skilled, proficient and self-motivated Paralegal to support our team with Estate Planning, Probate Administration, and Trust Administration. Our mission is to provide our clients with exceptional trust and estate planning services in which they may place their full confidence. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an in depth knowledge of the Arizona Trust Code and Arizona Probate Rules and Procedures. They should have experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration; a solid work ethic; the ability to effectively organize and prioritize projects; excellent proofing and editing skills; a high level of attention to detail; and strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be prepared to support our team with the highest quality of legal assistance to our clients.
PARALEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct legal research on estate and trust law issues
Review and draft legal documents, such as wills, trusts, court filings, affidavits, and deeds
Prepare and maintain estate and trust accountings
Communicate with clients, banks, accountants, and advisors
Docket attorney calendars and manage deadlines
Interact with trustees, personal representatives and estate/trust beneficiaries
Manage the funding of trusts
Implement plans of distributions after death
Administer probate-related matters, including but not limited to preparation of pleadings for informal probates, formal probates, guardianships, and conservatorships
Collaborate with attorneys to administer trust-related matters and plans of division
Assist with tax preparation for estates and trusts (may include working with outside tax professionals).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in paralegal or legal studies; Paralegal Certificate; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of five years of legal experience
Estate and trust administration experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
In-depth knowledge of Arizona probate court rules and procedures, experience with applying those rules and procedures, and the skills to find and understand changes in the law with respect to the rules and procedures
Superior research, analytical, and organizational skills
Critical thinking skills, excellent communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work independently
Experience with recording documents
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and the application of legal research tools, including Westlaw or Lexis
Able to learn new software quickly
Willing to work collaboratively in a team environment
